May27-28

I did my first dual event this week. I swam for 25 minutes and then ran for 25 on Wednesday. It was great! The transition is really tricky though. Me and my hair were wet and it was weird running with wet hair. It took me longer to get my running gear on too.

Yesterday I couldn't get outside on a bike (I was stuck in LA), so I went spinning for an hour. At least this time, I didn't eat it.

I went running again all on my own. I'm giving myself 2 weeks for intense (read almost daily) exercise sessions before I judge whether its making me thinner. I'm trying to run no less than 2 miles in each run and will "recover" on the elliptical on my days off.

running again

Today I went on a run/walk with my neighbor Karen and her good friend Andrea. The first 1.5 miles were entirely uphill. I ran the last 2 straight. I'm dead now.

Bike ride

I went for a bike ride today. Not at the gym. But out. On my bike. It was awesome. I am really tired now. And Irvine is beautiful!

Triathlon Training

So I've started training for the LA sprint triathlon which is October 4. I'm doing an 8 week training program and I'll do another longer one when I'm done with the 8 weeks. Yesterday, I did strength training and a 20 minute warm-up/cool-down jog. Today I'm set to jog for half an hour.

3 days and counting

Sweet. You've been doing yoga. I've been running. I've had a pretty nasty shin splint for the past couple of weeks though, so I've been trying to take it a little easy and my running program is a little off. Will have to cut back from running after the 5K.
